Parent Expectations

As the old saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child.” We are happy to be a part of your village/community. Your children are our priority. We want to do all we can to help them grow and develop in a safe and fun environment. It takes a shared commitment from both parents and caregivers to ensure children receive all they can to help them learn and grow. We are committed to providing a safe, fun, educational and loving environment for your children.

Here is what parents can do to help:

  • Keep informed by checking your child’s “mailbox” for newsletters, receipts, billing statements, calendars, etc. Let us know if you prefer emails.

  • Stay connected to the program and other families through our private and public Facebook groups.

  • Provide correct and current information including:

    • Contact information (phone numbers and addresses)

    • Medications

    • Child’s YMCA Early Learning Community schedule (Please contact the Early Learning Community by 9 AM, if your child is scheduled to attend but will be absent.)

  • Provide weather appropriate attire and extra clothing in case of accidents.

  • Follow the YMCA Early Learning Community illness policy.

  • Follow the YMCA Early Learning Community payment agreement.

  • Be on time for drop off and pick up.

  • Provide teachers with as much information as possible regarding your child: their needs, medications, goals, preferences, behaviors, suggestions for what works best for them, etc.

  • Share and discuss the YMCA Early Learning Community expectations with your child.

  • Listen to and respect teachers and staff. They have a lot of education and experience. They truly care about each and every child in our program.

  • We also appreciate donations of art supplies, and used toys, books, clothing etc. that your child no longer uses.
